Biography - Joseph Christopher (Chris) Higares

J. Chris Higares began his aviation career 38 years ago as a civil service aircraft apprentice mechanic for the Navy at Alameda Naval Air Station, working on a variety of Navy military aircraft. After receiving his journeyman certificate, he joined the Navy, went to Memphis NATTC for jet engine mechanic training, graduated number one in his class, and chose Naval Air Station Moffett Field, CA, Squadron VP-91 anti-submarine squadron for six years as a crew chief on P-3A Orion aircraft. As a civilian once again, he began his commercial aviation career as a mechanic working for United Airlines, and was hired as a maintenance manager at American Airlines. He gained valuable experience on narrow and wide body commercial transport aircraft.

His desire and passion to increase his aviation knowledge led him to the world of corporate aviation. His five years at the Cessna Citation Service Center in Long Beach, CA, as maintenance and sales/marketing manager, has made him an expert on the Citation 500 through 750 series. His continued desire for knowledge and career growth led him to work for a major jet sales company in Boulder, CO., from July1996- June 1998. He began his own professional aircraft brokerage company, AirCal Jet Sales LLC, July 1998, and an aircraft appraisal company, Aircraft Evaluation Services Co., in August 2001. As the owner, he is involved in all aspects of selling, acquisitions, management, appraisals, consulting, finance, Pre-buys, and aircraft maintenance invoice reviews.
